You might also check the voltage between the alternator output (the red wire) and the battery positive, which should be about .3-.4 volts, depending on the current the battery is drawing. Your reading indicate a voltage drop somewhere. Your battery voltage while the key is off indicates a partially charged battery.
Overdrive! Dec 10, 2005. #1. My charging light came on suddenly tonight after having a new alternator for a week. The belt was fine but the lamp stayed brightly lit even with all accessories and lights out. Disconnecting the large cable that feeds back to the battery from terminal B+, I measured the output from the alternator as 3.5 volts.
Still, a few build quality issues to be ironed out but overall build quality seemed to have improved a lot. Many of the complaints are also for transmission issues. The Land Rover Discovery 3 and 4 are synonymous with air suspension and electronic park brake problems. C’mon land Rover you need to up your game here.
Feb 3, 2018. #1. Hi all I have been having a lot of electronic problems with my Freelander 2 recently, so I thought I would check what sort of charge my alternator was putting out. The results were weird. The battery before starting was at 12.72 volts. I started the engine and was very surprised to see 16.52 volts coming to the battery.
